T. Payson Thompson, MD

Dr. Payson Thompson brings experience in urgent care, emergency and family medicine to Accent Urgent Care.

He spent nearly a year on a medical mission trip in Central America, volunteering at clinics and hospitals throughout the country with a goal of helping serve patients with little access to healthcare.  Dr. Thompson earned his medical degree at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, and completed his residency at Ventura County Family Medical Center, which trains full spectrum family physicians in a 208-bed county hospital setting.

He had the opportunity to follow his interest in rheumatology with a grant-funded fellowship at the Ventura County Medical Center Rheumatology Clinic, consulting with new patients and working with his own patients under the supervision of rheumatologist Dr. Duane Pearson. Dr. Thompson also has a bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Michigan.

He holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Neonatal Advanced Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Pediatric Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
