Now Welcoming New Patients!

"Because every patient is different, I believe that individualized care is key. I take the time to answer my patients’ questions and concerns and provide reassurance so that they leave our practice knowing they are in good hands. It is also important to me that I work in partnership with each patient. We are a team, and I hope to have their cooperation and commitment so we can work together toward their good health."

As a non-invasive cardiologist, Dr. Bhavani Balaravi specializes in cardiac imaging, including echocardiograms, CT scans of the heart, nuclear stress tests, cardiac MRIs and cardiac imaging. Most commonly, she treats patients who are experiencing chest pain, heart failure, atrial fibrillation and myocardial infarction. Dr. Balaravi is also a strong advocate for patient education and preventive care. She works hard to teach her patients about maintaining heart health, through methods such as medication, exercise and diet.

From a young age, Dr. Balaravi knew she wanted to become a doctor. Her uncle was a physician, which originally piqued her interest in the field of medicine. Additionally, she explained, “I always wanted to provide service, and I feel that being a doctor is the best service you can provide.”

As a female cardiologist, Dr. Balaravi has many female patients who appreciate her ability to listen and empathize, as well as her commitment to taking as much time as needed to answer their questions and address their concerns.

“I believe in quality of care, not quantity, and I strive to put my patients at ease,” she said. “I give them the information they need to understand their disease and treatment options. This tends to decrease anxiety and build reassurance. Only then can my patients start to take care of themselves and their hearts.”

Dr. Balaravi lives in Cary with her husband. She enjoys staying active through activities such as tennis, riding bikes and working out at the gym. She and her husband also like to travel.
