Advanced Dermatology

    Dermatology Skin Checks
Our dermatologists also perform annual skin tests, which can help detect skin cancer or other serious skin problems before they progress. By performing an annual skin test, we can monitor the size, shape and color of any moles or birthmarks to ensure they are not changing, which can help prevent and reduce your risk of developing skin cancer.

    Minor Dermatological Procedures
Our dermatologists at are trained in performing minor dermatological procedures such as those required to remove moles, warts, skin tags or other skin lesions. We can also use cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen), which is a procedure that freezes the affected tissue and destroys the dangerous or unnecessary cells. For the convenience of our patients, these simple dermatological procedures can be performed right in our office in a minor procedure room.

For more serious conditions, our physicians can refer you to a dermatologist who has had additional training in dermatology.

Dermatology Tips
Taking care of your skin is important. After all, the skin is the largest organ in your body. To avoid skin problems, we compiled this list of valuable tips.

  • Get checked. Get an annual skin check once a year, every year to screen for skin cancer. This simple step can be life-saving, as early detection for skin cancer is very important.
  • Protect your skin. Always wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 if you plan to be in the sun for more than 15 minutes, even on a cloudy or winter day. Wearing a hat can also help protect your face from getting too much sun.
  • Keep it clean! Wash your face twice a day with soap and water. This can help prevent acne and other common skin problems.
  • Pay attention. Keep a close watch on freckles, moles, birthmarks and any other skin abnormalities. Any changes could be a sign of a problem.

If you ever have any concerns, err on the side of caution and quickly consult with your physician.
