Dr. Esa Bloedon is board certified in Otolaryngology and his clinical interests are adult and pediatric ENT disorders (also known as pediatric otolaryngology), sinus diseases and surgery, thyroid surgery, rhinology and otology.

Education and Professional Development
Dr. Bloedon received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He also holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his internship in General Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and his residency in Otolaryngology, also at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has received the Stephen G. Balshi Prize for his work in the area of Otolaryngology, as well as the S. MacCuen Smith Memorial Prize in Otology.

Dr. Bloedon is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and has been published in journals such as, Laryngoscope, Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and Otology Neurotology. Much of his research focuses on the topic of Otitis Media. Dr. Bloedon has also presented his research at national conferences, such as, The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery's Annual Meeting.
